Vintage Thekua
Where vintage meets supremacy, and every bite is handcrafted with love.
What Thekua Is
Thekua, also known as Khajoor, is a traditional Indian sweet, especially popular during the much-loved festival of Chhath Puja.
This delicacy is known for its crispy and crunchy texture. The outer layer is typically dark brown or sometimes golden brown, while the inside remains a lighter shade of brown. Its irresistible crunch and rich quality are a true testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of our manufacturing heroes.
We proudly call it an “adrenaline lifter” — a treat that energizes the senses and lifts the spirit.
How its made with ♥️
First and foremost, we begin by preparing maida, also known as refined wheat flour — the supreme ingredient of Thekua. Next, we add pure organic ghee, sourced from our very own Gir cows 🐮, to enhance the taste and deliver a rich, wholesome quality. To this, we blend in elaichi (cardamom) powder for an immersive aroma, followed by sugar, which brings that crunchy bite that’s sure to blow your mind ♥️.
We then sprinkle water gradually, depending on the nature and consistency desired for the Thekua.
After that, we knead the mixture into a smooth dough, shaping it into small balls — about the size of a ping pong ball. These are then pressed onto a mould (known as sancha in Hindi) to create beautiful traditional patterns.
Now comes the most delicate part — frying. We fry the Thekua on a very low flame 🔥, because as we all know, every wonderful thing takes time to build.
Fry until each piece becomes perfectly crispy and turns golden brown.
Let it cool for a while to enhance the flavor — and there you have it! Your scrumptious Thekua is ready to uplift your adrenaline and delight your soul.
